Juicy Bacon Burger

2 tbsp YR sauce
½ tsp Chilli powder
500g Beef mince
4 Slices of cheddar cheese
1 Tomato sliced
4 Bacon rashers
4 Brioche burger buns
½ White onion sliced into rings
1 Egg lightly beaten
Pinch of Salt and freshly ground pepper

For the coleslaw:
3 Carrots coarsely grated
¼ Cabbage very thinly sliced
1 Green apple coarsely grated
1 Spring onion sliced
¼ cup Mayonnaise
¼ cup Sour cream
2 tbsp Lemon juice
Prep Time:

20 minutes
Cooking Time:

10 minutes

  1. In a bowl mix beef mince, egg, YR sauce, chilli powder salt and pepper. Divide mixture into four equal portions (or 8 for mini sliders) and shape each into a patty about 4 inches wide. Make sure all the burgers are the same thickness so that they will cook evenly. Wrap the burgers in cling film and leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  2. Mix carrots, cabbage, spring onion and apple into a bowl. Add mayonnaise, sour cream and lemon juice and mix until fully combined. Flavour with salt and pepper. Leave in the fridge until ready to serve.
  3. Grill bacon rashers on medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Put aside once done.
  4. Grill burgers on medium heat for 5 minutes each side. Flip only once for the best result. When there's one minute of cooking time left, add cheddar slices on top of the burgers.
  5. Toast burger buns on the grill or in the toaster.
  6. Build the burger: Add YR sauce to the burger buns, the grilled burger, crispy bacon, tomato, onion ring and serve with coleslaw on the side.
